Philanthropist, Friend Of Several Bollywood Celebs, Parmeshwar Godrej Passes Away
Reports suggest that she was suffering from a degenerative lung disease and was admitted in the hospital for quite some time. Ex-cricketer and Pakistani politician Imran Khan, who was a close friend of the philanthropist, took to Twitter and express his condolences

Godrej, socialite and the wife of Indian electrical appliances group Godrej
group, Adi Godrej, passed away at Breach Candy Hospital on Monday night. Reports
suggest that she was suffering from a degenerative lung disease and had been
admitted in the Hospital for quite some time. Ex-cricketer and Pakistani
politician Imran Khan, who was a close friend of Parmeshwar, took to Twitter
and express his condolences. "Devastated by death of close friend, Parmeshwar
Godrej," he wrote. He also went on to say that he wished strength for Adi
Godrej and his children.
Khan and
Parmeshwar Godrej have been close friends and have made several media
appearances together.She also shared a good rapport with a number of Bollywood celebs including Kiran Rao, Salman Khan, Gauri Khan, former actress and philanthropist Tina Ambani among others.

Godrej, a socialite and a philanthropist has also been
active in spreading awareness about AIDS in India, for which she is very well
known. Godrej had been working through the Heroes Project- an initiative
launched by Hollywood actor Richard Gere in 2004. Parmeshwar’s initiative had
also garnered support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Parmeshwar
has worked as an air hostess for Air India, before she was married to her
entrepreneur husband Adi Godrej.
